The Illinois High School Association bass fishing sectionals were May 6, with the state finals set for Friday and Saturday at Carlyle Lake in Carlyle. The Peoria area has had its share of success in the event, which debuted in 2009. Illini West (2010), Canton (2011) and Morton (2013) won three of the first five state titles.Eight area boats will be among the 75 scheduled to take to the water starting 7 a.m. both days. They're all scheduled to return to dock between 3 p.m. and 3: 30 p.m. each day.
