The Illinois High School Association bass fishing sectionals were May 6, with the state finals set for Friday and Saturday at Carlyle Lake in Carlyle. The Peoria area has had its share of success in the event, which debuted in 2009. Illini West (2010), Canton (2011) and Morton (2013) won three of the first five state titles.Eight area boats will be among the 75 scheduled to take to the water starting 7 a.m. both days. They're all scheduled to return to dock between 3 p.m. and 3: 30 p.m. each day. Awards are scheduled for 4: 30 p.m. Saturday.We take a look at each of the Peoria-area boats: DunlapAnglers:  Brock Blazier, Tyler PresleyCoach: Rob BeckmanDriver:  Bob BeckmanPath to state: The Eagles are back at state for the sixth time, looking to improve on their seventh-place finish in 2016. They took second at the Lake McMaster sectional, pulling in 9 pounds, 1.7 ounces.EurekaAnglers: Trevor Carroll, Andrew Brittain, Owen SteffenCoach, driver: Eric SeimPath to state: The Hornets pulled in 7.44 pounds of fish to take third at Evergreen Lake. This will be the school's third trip to the state finals.FarmingtonAnglers: Drew Vawter, James Clark, Emily Vallianatos, Dawson FosterCoach, driver: Ron BoyerPath to state: Farmers are back at state for the ninth time after a fourth-place finish in 2017 and a second-place in 2018.
