On April 29th, Benetti launched from Livorno yacht Hawa. A 48-meter yacht tailor-made for her owner, touches water for the first time.The yacht, built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, was designed in collaboration with the famous English studio RWD, who penned the exterior and interior design. The owner, a loyal Benetti customer, passionate about boating and with a great deal of experience behind him, declared himself very satisfied with the result obtained and recognized the shipyard for its excellent know-how and the manufacturing capacity in completing the project with his input in careful consideration.Hawa stands out for the elegant "desert sand" hull color, chosen by the owner, and the original layout which prioritizes continuous contact with the environment. The use of refined furnishing elements and materials is striking, in particular the matte painted eucalyptus with dark walnut details and inlays of various leathers and marbles.She can accommodate ten people in five cabins and nine crew members. The main deck enjoys incredible brightness, thanks to a lounge with five openings to the outside that allow continuous views of the sea. On the same deck, toward the bow, instead of the traditional galley, the owner asked to have a pantry and a large VIP cabin with shower with sauna that precedes the large master cabin, full beam and with drop down side windows. Here the space was designed with a private study for the owner, bed, two wardrobes on the port side and a lounge area with bathroom to the starboard.The lower deck houses three double cabins for guests, as well as the galley, equipped with a dumbwaiter that allows the crew to serve all decks, including the sun deck. The beach area has two side openings that deploy into platforms, overlooking the sea and adding to the considerable beach area. The aft part of the upper deck is designed for convivial moments in the open air, with areas for relaxation, conversation and sunbathing. Inside the bright sky lounge with two large opening side windows, there is a pantry, a complete gym, also with opening side windows, and the wheelhouse with full-height windows covering 180°.The hull, designed by the P.L.A.N.A. studio in collaboration with the Azimut Benetti Research and Development department, ensures high performance and excellent seaworthiness for safe and comfortable navigation. The engine room houses a pair of MTUs of 1,268 kW each, which guarantee the yacht a maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at the 10 knot cruising speed.This superyacht is set to be delivered in the summer of 2021. Pearl Yachts has announced the strong sales and deliveries. The first three months of 2021 have been ultra-busy for British luxury motor yacht builder Pearl Yachts. Baxter Marine, Pearl Yachts’ longest-serving dealer, have demonstrated the growing international demand for Pearl’s line-up. No fewer than four new-boat contracts have been signed since the new year: a Pearl 95, two Pearl 80's, and a Pearl 62. A similar number of brand-new boats have been handed over to their eager owners: Another Pearl 95 and 4 more Pearl 62s. The slowdowns in global supply chains and new safety restrictions are little match for the experienced Pearl team.Pearl 95Baxter Marine has just handed over the third Pearl 95 to her owner in Palma, Mallorca, and Pearl’s US dealer, Atlantic Yacht & Ship Co, has now completed the sale of another Pearl 95 to an American client. The 42m Crowbridge by Cantiere delle Marche is made for very experienced repeat clients of Tommaso Spadolini who have owned several previous yachts, although all of them have been planing hulls. The yacht was launched in June 2020. The owners decided to make the switch to a custom displacement yacht for family reasons and wanted to cruise in more leisurely comfort. Crowbridge has a top speed of 15 knots and an economic cruising speed of 10 knots. This took something of a mind-shift as the owners were more accustomed to making fast transfers at 25 knots. But with a beam of 8.5m the explorer has much more space and her round-bilge hull with bulbous bow means she can venture out in weather that would keep a planing yacht in port, explains Tommaso Spadolini. “The owners had several specific requests, starting with the clean and sober profile as well as generous interior and exterior as they spent several weeks at a time on board. These may seem like common requirements for a large yacht, but he and his wife approached the project with very precise ideas of how they wanted the private and social areas to be set up,” says Tommaso Spadolini. “We worked closely with Sergio Cutolo’s HydroTec studio to maximize the internal volumes and in the superstructure we managed to create the perfect compromise between the interior layout and both the size and positioning of the large windows. An unusual request was to have six ensuite guest cabins on the lower deck – three double cabins for the owners’ sons and three twin single cabins for their grandchildren – which is rare on a yacht of this size”.Here are some details of the Crowbridge's design. The Otam Custom Range 115 is another fully engineered model in Otam Aluminium Custom Range. The exterior lines by BG Design Firm, the same studio behind the new Otam 70 HT, are inspired by the aeronautical and automotive worlds to reflect the brand’s racy DNA. Design details include the chromed ventilation vents in the transom and the air inlet on top of the hardtop.“The philosophy behind the Otam Aluminium Custom Range is that it is fully bespoke and aimed at clients who don’t just want a boat – they want to build their ideal project,” says Otam Sales Director Matteo Belardinelli. “Over 30 meters we build in aluminium rather than advanced composites because it provides much more flexibility to personalise the yacht in every way, from the exterior aesthetics and interior layout to the propulsion specifications.”The deep-V hull has been developed by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design to provide excellent seakeeping, comfortable entry into waves and high speeds. Extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEM) ensures a rigid hull that is not prone to flexing or twisting, while Computional Fluid Dynamics (CFD) serves to optimise performance and handling at sea.Clients can choose between a 3-engine configuration with MTU 2600-hp engines and a KaMeWa waterjet central booster for a top speed of 44 knots (cruising speed 32 knots) or twin MTU engines for a top speed of 35 knots (cruising speed 28 knots). Because no moulds are used in the aluminium construction, clients can choose to customise their yacht in multiple ways. There are various layout options for the aft cockpit, flybridge and vast foredeck. The four stateroom standard layout comprises an airy, open-plan salon and dining area behind the wheelhouse on the main deck where the extensive glazing is designed to provide panoramic sea views, even when seated. There are two en suite guest staterooms on the lower deck, a large VIP stateroom and a full-beam master stateroom amidships, together with a gym or SPA or a big pantry for best service on board 24h. Between the owner’s suite and the engine room is the dedicated crew accommodation and galley. The transom garage can house a 4.20m tender and jet ski. The shipyard’s history started in 1954 in Liguria. Its professionalism is what made it stand out, very quickly becoming the first authorized Riva yacht Service Center for the Med Sea. In the 80’s Otam fit around 25 yachts for an American builder before starting his own production of Otam 45’ and 55’, earning significant attention. Pershing 6X expresses the boldest and most daring side of the brand’s character – it compact but in no way incomplete, it packs all the best of the brand’s leading-edge technology into a compact form factor.The 18.94m long and 4.8m wide, Pershing 6X is the result of collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Group’s Engineering Department.The exterior styling shares the same family feeling as the other Generation X models. The new yacht has a highly aerodynamic profile and large glazed surfaces in the hull that flood the lower deck with natural light. The main novelties include style features that clearly reflect Pershing’s approach to design in recent years, further improving functional and comfort-related design goals without affecting performance. They include the new styling of the big aft sun pad, the carbon and teak table in the cockpit dining area, and the chaise longue with reclining backrest positioned forward. The most important new feature on the main deck is the helm station, made up of a dashboard with two 19-inch monitors, carbon fibre control panels and an electro-hydraulic steering system. Also available is an innovative joystick coupled to the surface drive with various advanced operating modes, including ‘easy handling’ for ground-breaking manoeuvrability in ports and confined waters.
